The Tale of Peter Rabbit first appeared in a picture letter written in 1893 by Beatrix Potter for a young family friend and it was published as a book in 1902 by Frederick Warne. Twenty-two other beautifully illustrated books followed; introducing a host of unforgettable characters such as Benjamin Bunny, Squirrel Nutkin, Jemima Puddle-Duck, Mr. Jeremy Fisher and many others, all drawn from real animals. This particular fabric line is inspired by Peter Rabbit and Benjamin Bunny's escapades in Mr. McGregor's garden, trying to retrieve Peter's jacket and shoes from the farmer.
